In my practice I primarily use juniper berries capsules for abnormal fermentation in the gut.  They are marvelous for stopping overgrowth of any particular microorganism there.  For chronically sick people or anyone with a strange overgrowth in the intestines, I give 2 capsules with each meal for 2-3 weeks, then 2 weeks off and then repeat if needed.  Can be repeated several times with great benefit.
