Severe Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy

Known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, nausea and vomiting in pregnancy can become debilitating. In that event, the following very strict program is normally curative and can be followed exactly through the entire pregnancy and indeed for life.

It is important to understand that you have to get the load off the liver entirely!!!!

For those women I work with in my practice I strongly recommend that my patients ONLY take supplements I recommend (no prenatal vitamins, protein powders for example)

Eat very strictly as follows:

Must have 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a little water 15 minutes before each meal. This can make things worse for the first 3-4 days but after that it will be part of the cure.

Fruit for breakfast (have all you want but only fruit--apples, strawberries and grapes must be organic, bananas must be very ripe)

If hungry later:

For brunch, if desired, can have steel cut oats with butter or almond milk (Almond Breeze brand or fresh made), sweetened with berries, very ripe bannans, honey or organic sugar

--or--

a single egg seasoned only with sea salt, fresh ground black pepper and/or Traci's Vegetable Seasoning Powder (available here)

For lunch (do not forget the cayenne and water 15 minutes before eating)

One protein item (either green beans, black beans, sprouted lentils, 100% grass fed beef cooked rare, wild caught salmon, organic chicken with the skin or green peas)

--With a robust vegetable salad (of any combination of: cabbage, carrots, beets, sprouts, jicama, radishes, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, avocados, cherry tomatoes, parsley--season only with raw vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil and dry herbs) (notice the absence of lettuce, spinach, etc from the list)

Once stable, the pregnant woman may try chopped walnuts or pecans, slivered almonds, flax seed, sesame seed, etc on the salad, but this should not be done for the first two weeks and should be discontinued immediately if problems return.

Let me notice here that it is essential that this person NOT DEVIATE in the slightest from this plan. If it is followed perfectly, the nausea and vomiting will stop or be very greatly reduced in 3-4 days (almost always 3). Complaints of starving or not getting the crackers you have come to rely on, etc. are naive and ill conceived. Chew food well and be patient. Once the irritating, cooked, processed, congesting debris is gone from the system, it will start to function normally again.

Supper: Either: 1 small potato (organic and must be no more than 1.5 inches in diameter) or a piece of baked sweet potato or squash or steamed vegetable (just choose one).

AND: 3 raw vegetables from the list mentioned at lunch. Dress simply as with lunch. Olive oil on the potato, balsalmic vinegar, apple cider vinegar sea salt and dry herbs.

Finish eating by 7 pm.

Try to keep ratio of raw to cooked 70% to 30% by weight (not volume)

Near bedtime, eat one organic apple.

Use nothing from a package, nothing with an ingredient list, nothing with any processed ingredients of any kind.

Avoid refined sweeteners (of any kind at all), all dairy protein (milk, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, etc.--butter is okay but only early in the day, never for supper), soy (including soybean oil), corn (including corn starch, corn oil, corn syrup, maltodextrin from corn, etc), wheat, chocolate, peanuts, canola oil and anything processed and pretty much anything not on my list.

Supplements:

equal parts raspberry leaf, alfalfa, comfrey leaf: make one cup of the tea and drink per day.

1 Tablespoon of Jurassic Green (Dr. Christopher Product) per day in juice or water.

One capsule of Liver Gall Bladder formula (here) with breakfast and supper

Bowels must move at least 2 times daily. Use Dr. Christopher's Lower Bowel formula (here) or Standard Process or Zypan (here) or take a ginger enema (3 heaping tablespoons of ginger powder in 3-5 cups of distilled water, clean bowels out completely so that no more formed stool comes out. Repeat enema up to 4 times if needed.

Take Dr. Christopher's Thyroid Maintenance formula (here), 5 capsules morning and right before bed with the apple.
